After School Activities – How to take these to your kids?
What if your son doesn’t illustrate curiosity in playing cricket when he is back from school? What do you feel
when you see that your daughter is no more motivated to go to the piano classes! You may be bamboozled looking at
your kids replying that they interested in playing cricket and attending piano classes, which at one stage made
them go crazy. The after school activities that you thought your kids are obsessed with are no more an element of
surprise for them. In other words they have started to mull over other interesting options, which might make them
disinterested in the near future! The reality is that they have had enough of these after school activities and
want some time to loosen up and relish the joy of leisure.
So it becomes important to park yourself and talk openly about the kid’s interest and the inclination that they
have at that age. These obsessions may tend to change as they get over the different stages of their average life
span. Therefore scolding a kid or insisting it to develop the interest for the after school activities that you
want them to pursue is the typical way of anti-parenting.
Once if the parents witness their kids showing their back, while they request them to get ready for the after
school activities, a serious botheration hits them hard. They contemplate whether they have taken a premature
decision. This makes them mull over the reality that they have wasted money on making the kids take up an activity
that they are not engaged in, at all. In any case which parent would like to see their kids back off when being
persisted to show interest in the after school activities.
Ask them what difficulty they have that makes them stop going there! Find out whether they feel uncomfortable in
that place due to some invalid reasons or is it that they have really lost the fervor and enthusiasm that they had
for these after school activities once.
Take them with you and watch them in action so as to find out what they are actually unto? Have a chat with the
trainer or the master to learn about the kid’s progress and interest in the activity! This works wonder in two
ways! You are able to get down to the spot, which is the hub where they develop extra curricular skills. Secondly
you are able to show them that you really care for them and will stand by them even at points wherein they lose
interest for everything due to their volatile attitude.
After finding out the factor that hampers their progress and makes them lose interest, try some ways to get the
kids back on track. These measures should only be taken by a parent neither the schoolteacher nor the master
trainer at the camp. The kid’s psychological thought processes can be clearly deciphered by the parents and not
others. Therefore understand your child and assist them in their distressing times; they will obviously be addicted
to you and their after school activities.
